Description

A series of trial holes was dug in an allotment, ahead of housing development. Beneath a deep garden soil several of the holes contained no traces of earlier occupation; in others, a scatter of limestone fragments was observed, overlying subsoil. Only four sherds of Roman pottery were recovered. There was insufficient evidence to justify further excavation.
