Summary
A single-storey factory that appears to originate as two distinct units. The northern three ranges were occupied by the Central Machinery Co from about 1905 and the southern two ranges were occupied by Coxton Shoe Co. Documentary evidence suggests that Coxton's took over the whole complex c1923. The Boot and Shoe Technical College opened in 1928.

Full Description
{1} Very fuctional in character. Now used by Glenn Leathers Ltd, F. & I. Group Ltd.
{2} Northern three ranges were occupie by Central Machinery Company from c.1909 to c.1920. Taken over by Coxton Shoe Company in 1920s and incorporated within the Boot and Shoe technology college , before reverting to commercial leather trades uses.
Brick with slender stone sill bands and a hipped plain-tiled roof. It appears to contain large workrooms. Not shown on 1926 map therefore probably conincided with Technical College. Now owned by Darrell Field & partners.
{3} The Boot and Shoe Technical College occupies a single-storeyed factory dating from circa 1905, probably built either for shoe manufacture or shoe machinery manufacture. Part of the orginal frontage to Victoria Road has been demolished.
{4} College was opened in 1928.
