Summary
(?Clarke Bros, George Warner Ltd, Clifford Collins Ltd) A shoe factory (No. 68) and a conjoined house (no.70) occupy a deep plot on the south side of the road are dated 1877. No.70 is a two storeyed house, slightly wider than the average, with an elaborate timber porch to the entrance and a canted bay window to the ground floor room. The factory has three storeys and a front (north) elevation of four pier and panel bays. A wide yard entrance occupies the eastern-most bay, beneath a first floor taking in doorway retaining a taking-in crane. The principal entrance was in the next bay to the west. The shoe factory has largely been demolished, though the façade and outer walls appear to have been retained and converted into residential housing.

Full Description
{1} Owned by Horace Wright in 1920.Three storey, four bay factory with arch to the rear on Harboro Road. Now 'Clifford Collins Ltd Leather Manufacturers' Film 10, photo 22-25. Adjacent house possibly associated with the factory as it is built earlier than others on the terrace (dated 1887). Now owned by 'Daniels est 1970. Leather Collection' Film 10, photo 21.
