Building record 7203/82/1 - Workshops on Robinson Road

Former Totectors Closing room. A small closing or leather cutting workshop for the boot and shoe trade. This site appears to have developed in a piecemeal way from a small workshop built in the 1920s.The northern most range fronting onto Robinson Road, comprises a small brick-built workshop with a goods entrance in the north gable. The building extends to the north for two further ranges. From the map evidence it is possible that at least one (if not both of them) pre-date the structure described above. The central range consists of five bays clad in corrugated iron with the roof laid in diamond-shaped asbestos tiles. To the south is a further range of similar size and construction.

{2} Warehouse at 52 Robinson Road. Former Totectors Closing room. Built early 20th century possibly as a temporary structure or re-using remnant of an existing structure. Section closest to road built of brick but corrugated tin under asbestos used for rear ranges.
