Full Description

{1} Sewage works, north of the town. There was a large sewage works to the north of the town including sluices, filter beds, sludge beds, settling tanks etc. The majority of this has now gone although a 'pumping station' is marked in the approximate location on modern maps. The remainder of the area is taken over by allotment gardens, playing field, roadway and factory.
