Full Description

{1} Fire Station, Newton Road. Built in 1902-3 and designed by an ex-fireman and has a brigade of 15 members. The building is an elaborate structure with a distinctive corner tower which may have been used for firemen pole. Now used by a number of businesses including a café, but also used for storage of long ladders etc for the fire brigade. Film 8 photo 22.
