Summary
Three late Bronze Age socketed axes in Birmingham City Museum were examined in 1972. They were obtained in 1948 and are said to have been found in a field near Oundle "with about 80 other axeheads in an earthenware jar".

Full Description
{1} Three late Bronze Age socketed axes in Birmingham City Museum were examined in 1972. They were obtained in 1948 from a Colonel A. Constantine who said they had been discovered by a farmer friend in a field near Oundle. They were found "with about 80 other axeheads in an earthenware jar" according to the Museum records but unfortunately the whereabouts of these other objects is unknown.
