Full Description

{1} Until 1798 Baptists in Raunds met in cottage in Rotton Row. In 1798 a barn was purchased and converted for use a chapel by inserting pews etc. End gallery added to the barn in 1806 and side galleries added in 1821. New stone meeting house was begun in 1837 and interior works carried out in 1856. The church closed in 1948. The building is still extant and is currently used by a Plastics Manufacturing company. Local knowledge indicates that there are no internal features remaining although the exterior is fairly intact, although some modern windows have been inserted etc. The adjoining "Baptist Sunday School 1886" is now used as offices / residential accommodation.
