Full Description
{1} Swimming Pool within the grounds of Magdalen College School. Magdalen College School was founded in 1447. In 1896 a new wing was established which incorporated dormitories and the masters accommodation. The building was further enlarged and restored in 1904 and in 1909 the hospital of St John was acquired as an extra building. Until 1950 it was maintained as a Direct Grant Grammar School, after this date it was transferred to the County of Northamptonshire. 1973 amalgamated with secondary school and high school. The original buildings survive in an apparently good state of repair and new structures have since been erected. It was not possible to get access to the school premises, but from map analysis it appears that the facilities such as the football ground and swimming pool still exist.
