Full Description
Cardboard Box Manufacturers
Kelly s Trade Directory of 1924 indicates a Cardboard Box Manufacturing unit in the town. This is shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1926 as 'Maxim Works' on Paddock Lane - this structure has now been replaced by modern housing, however the manufacture of cardboard boxes may have continued at other premises. A 20th century construction on Rushton Road has 'Rigid Containers' emblazoned on the front (now considerably faded). This is no longer operating and the buildings are now owned by Elite Upholstery Manufacturing. (1)
