Full Description
{1} An extension of the graveyard of the church. Purchased by the church and consecrated for burial in 1862. The area is marked as disused on Ordnance Survey maps of 1900 and 1926 and is still there, but disused today.
{2} 1880s OS map shows a roughly rectangular area laid out with a cruciform path, the central axis of which is aligned with the path to the church on the other side of the street. Modern OS maps suggest that two of the paths survive in an L-shape. The only planting indicated is a single conifer in the north-eastern quadrant.
HER note 17/09/2013: Recent Google Earth imagery suggests that there may be additional ornamental planting during the C20th. At least some of the gravestones appear to survive upright and the cemetery may be in a fair condition.
