Summary

A three storey boot and shoe factory, built in 1896, probably for Slow & Hullett on the west side of Clarence Street. It has an L shaped plan with a street range of nine bays constructed in orange brick. The north gable has a central tier of taking in doors and the privies and stair are in a projection at the north end of the rear elevation.

Clarence Works Boot and Shoe, Clarence Road
Boot and Shoe works shown on map - three storey buidlng 'S&H 1896'. Uncertain whether the building is still in use or not. Film 7, photo 11, 12 (1)

{2} Three storeyed factory on the south side of Clarence Street. Nine bays constructed in orange brick with limestone sills and sill bands, a blue brick damp course and a moulded and dentilled eaves. Datestone with the inscription S & H 1896, probably for Slow & Hullett
