Summary
The Perfecta shoe machinery works origininated in 1903 as a single-storey factory and was extended in a series of phases between then and 1916. The principal front appears to have been towards Catesby Street on the east. Here a north lit range is concealed by a brick front with a tall parapet. To the north there is a single-storeyed gabled range which may be the erecting shop added in 1904. Fronting Bath Road to the west is the office and pattern store building with a gabled mansard roof, which was added in 1916.
