Northampton Brewery Company, Market Place
It has not been possible to identify a building which was associated with this business which was listed in Kelly's Trade Directory of 1894. (1)
{2} The original Phoenix brewery (SP 754 599) was built in 1856 at 114, 116 and 118 Bridge Street by three Phillips brothers who by 1870 referred to it as the Steam Brewery. It was taken over in 1887 by the Northampton Brewery Company, who in 1890 acquired the Lion Brewery (SP 756 597) of Allen & Burnett. In 1891 there was a wharf along the south side of the brewery, terminating at Bridge Street….. (reference ends)
