Railway Cattle Pens
The railway was opened through Weedon and Northampton in 1838 - causing a decline in the coaching trade through Daventry. A branch line to Daventry with station on Abbey Street was not established until 1888. Regular services to Weedon and Northampton. The railway line, station and associated buildings have since been demolished and a road had been constructed along part of its alignment.
