{1} Methodist Church, High Street. Methodism in Irthlingborough established in 1808. The new Methodist Church opened in April 1897 and was described as 'handsome and commodious building'. Prior to opening of this building the Wesleyan Chapel in High Street (now used as a school room was used). The early building is still in existence.
The red brick 1897 building is still in existence and had decorative stone detailing. The building is still in use by the Methodist Church and has a very good interior complete with first floor gallery. Film 1, photo 25.
