Please read our guidance about the use of Northamptonshire Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
The Victoria Leather Company built this large single storeyed leather factory around 1910, on land conveniently close to the Midland Railway goods sidings on the Higham Ferrers branch. The building appears to have had a screen wall of six pier and panel bays orignally, of which the southern two have been demolished. Behind the screen there were three (now two) north-lit ranges. The present south wall is modern and the roof where visible, is of modern sheet material.

Full Description
{1} Large red brick building with sign embossed on the frontage 'The Victoria Leather Coy'. There is a break in the brickwork with two different coloured bricks used - indicating two phases of building? A later small building to the side copies the style of the main works. Very austere, functional appearance. Film 1, photo 17-20.
{2} email from NCC's Senior Archaeological Advisor stating that ENDC have allowed this building to be demolished without any archaeological recording despite the permission having an archaeological condition.
