Summary

This leather works originated as a small workshop to the rear of 19 Thrift Street built in the 1890s. In the late 1920s a long single storeyed rear range was built behind the back yards of the houses on Thirft Street, with a gabled front to Westfields Avenue. It is built of Fletton brick, with a north front of rusticated Flettons and a roof of corrugated asbestos

Full Description

{1} Factory/ industrial building, Thrift Street
Large building in centre of terraces - presumably a small factory - on the same alignment as terraces. Would appear to be earlier than the terraces and certainly has a slightly different frontage with the use of decorative detail (blue and white bricks on front of building). Film 5, photo 12.
