{1}Cinema
Towcester Cinema opened in 1939 and was designed by Messrs Brown and Henson and built by Messrs Underwood and Weston. It was one of the most up-to-date buildings of the time. The cinema was a gift to the town from the Hesketh family and had a small private box for their use. The cinema was demolished in 1983-4, it originally stood opposite Phipps Brewery.
