Summary
The Oundle Union Brewery Company was set up in 1836 by a consortium of farmers and bankers, and the brewery was built on the site between West Street and South Road. The brewery only operated for 17 years before it was sold, by auction, to Smith's, brewers based in North Street. It was closed soon after. The site has been redeveloped as a residential area known as Brewery Court. Surviving buildings retain good louvre work.

Full Description
{1} Malthouse, South Road
Malthouse with projecting lucarne remains in existence on South Street. The structure has now been converted to domestic dwellings, Film 4, photo 22, 23, 24 Film 5, photo 24.25.
{3, 4} The Oundle Union Brewery Company was set up in 1836 by a consortium of farmers and bankers, and the brewery was built on the site between West Street and South Road. The brewery only operated for 17 years before it was sold, by auction, to Smith's, brewers based in North Street. It was closed soon after.
The site has been redeveloped as a residential area known as Brewery Court. Surviving buildings retain good louvre work.
{5} A level 2 building recording survey was undertaken of the remaining unconverted buildings on site.
