Montague Street
Erected in 1891-2. Built for Kettering School Board built by Alfred Barlow to the designs of John Alfred Gotch. The main school is still in existence and is in use as 'William Knibb Centre . Northamptonshire County Council' Film 8, photo 3,4 (1)
Kettering School Board wanted architect designed schools so that they would not look like Board Schools. They wanted the building to be distinguished not merely utilitarian. (1)
The school clinic which was established in 1910 at Montague Street School comprises general dental and ophthamic departments. (1)
