Iron Furnaces, Furnace Street.
Furnace Street no longer exists the whole area has been demolished and replaced with modern housing.

Ironstone extraction and erection of blast furnaces for smelting the ore. Raising and smelting of iron ore began in 1854 - much sent to Yorkshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Wales to be smelted.
Furnaces established in Furnace Street and near railway line on Irthlingborough Road and to the north end of the town on Finedon Road. Evidence of quarries for ironstone working can be seen on Gold Street.
Several iron foundaries established in Wellingborough. (1)
