Summary

An 'L' plan two-storey former shoe factory is at the rear of two terraced houses on the west side of Park Road. It originated as brick built workshops in the back yards of these houses. Both the houses and the workshops were built in the late 19th century. By the early 20th century the workshops had been combined and extended to form the shoe factory. The factory has since been converted to flats.

Full Description

{2} L-plan 2-storey former shoe factory. First appears on 1899 OS map and extended by 1924. Smaller structures were added in the 1960s along the south side of the yard. Site of the complex was limited but the upper floor had almost continuous workshop-type windows with timber casement frames overlooking the yard.
