Full Description
{1} A landscape garden around a large house on High Street [possibly former No.58 High Street], is shown on an early map [map undefined?]. The area has since been built over.
[SMR Note: 06/02/2009: the mapped area was built over by the time of the 1880s First Edition Ordnance Survey series. The area was open field during part of the medieval period at least, called Castle Side Field. This area was then occupied by the planned new town of Brackley, which was laid out during the early C13th along the road to Oxford. The modern street name of Stable Court, to the rear of the mapped area supports the suggestion of a large and important house here in the post medieval/industrial period.]
