Full Description

{1} Immediately south of Bridge No.51, the towpath is edged at the canal side by stone blocks, originally used as sleeper blocks on the London and Birmingham Railway at Roade cutting when it opened in 1838. In each block there is a rectangular recess situated diagonally, with a central hole for securing the rail.
