Full Description
{1} The flight of six wide locks (Nos. 1-6) in one mile raises the canal a total of 35ft 6in to the summit level. Over this length the canal is crossed by three bridges and alongside Lock 3 there is a canalside pub. The 'Admiral Nelson' was converted from a farmhouse which started selling beer to the navigators building the canal and then to the boatmen. It was much altered during the 1980s.
