Summary

The site of a World War II searchlight battery. The site is know to have had a generator and Nissen huts. It was probably constructed between 1939 and 1945 but the site had been destroyed by the time of the Defence of Britain survey. The site is located at Abthorpe.

{1} Armishaw records oral report from an Abthorpe resident. Site under cultivation; no visible remains reported. Searchlight was located in centre of field. Sketch plan of arrangement of searchlight and associated huts and generator.
