Summary

183 Second World War anti-tank cylinders standing in line from the Doddington Road to the South-East corner of the cemetery. These ae ex-situ, the original location being unknown. On allotments South of the cemetery on Doddington Road, Wellingborough, opposite the junction with Kingsway and the Royal Oak pub.

Full Description

{1} Located on allotments S of cemetery on Doddington Rd opposite junction with Kingsway. 183 Anti-tank concrete cylinders in line from Doddington Rd to SE corner of cemetery. 173 in one line and 10 in another - local information suggest line once continuous. All have central hole and steel reinforcement is visible on some. Relocated here shortly after WW2; original location unknown. Good condition. Photo.

{2} 183 x anti-tank cylinders standing in line from the Doddington Road to the SE corner of the cemetery. The line is divided into two groups, one of 173 cylinders and one of 10 cylinders. Local information suggests that the line was once continuous. All cylinders have a central hole, and steel reinforcement is visible on some. Ex-situ. The cylinders were put in their present position shortly after the end of the war. Original location unknown. On allotments S of the cemetery on Doddington Road, Wellingborough, opposite the junction with Kingsway and the Royal Oak pub.
