Full Description
{1} Located towards the east side of the airfield near Great Byards Sale Wood. A very heavily fortified Stanton Shelter. Thick brick walls. External appearance as "sawn-off" Aztec pyramid, with sloping brick walls. Entrances at each end, dog-legged on hard standing". Condition assessed as good. Sketch plan and elevation, not to scale. Remains of an airman's bicycle found next to the building! Identified as No. 44 on airfield record site plan IWA/793/51.
