{1} Steps and balustrade. C.1905. By Sir Reginald Blomfield for Lord Brassey. Ashlar. Set of steps has, to north, a retaining wall surmounted by a balustrade with double-ended balusters and end piers. South end has low wall with stone coping and ball finials. Forms a significant group with Apethorpe Palace (qv), which it adjoins, and the other items surrounding the house. The gardens at Apethorpe are included in the English Heritage Parks and Register at Grade II.
