Full Description

[1] A series of light anti-aircraft Bofors gun sites designed to protect the Rugby radio VP site. Eight of the sites were in Northants, the remainder extended across into Warwicks. Location of the sites from 12 Nov 1940 to April 1941 is known. On 1.4.1941 they were transferred to 67 AA Bde. 11 AA Div. and thereafter their history not determined. The location of the sites and their relocations (with codes provided by AA) between Nov 1940 and April 1941 was as follows:
Nov 12th 1940; 113 Bty 27th Regt:
Lilbourne parish: HH2 SP55267651 moved to HH3 SP5527 7671

3rd December 1940; 113 Bty 27th Regt:
Lilbourne parish: AA SP56017628
Yelvertoft parish: BB SP56667513 moved to BB(2) SP56197517
Crick parish: XX SP56857399

April 1940; 186 Bty 72nd LAA Regt.
Lilbourne parish: HH SP55227646
Yelvertoft parish: BB SP56167500

{2} No current remains known although the RAF verticals of April 1947 appear to depict some of the Lilbourne sites.
