Summary
Prior to WWI the factory manufactured horse carriages and cars. Production then switched to manufacturing a variety of war-related products. The factory site eventually closed in 1941. Long since demolished.

Full Description
{1} Mulliners factory located between St John’s Church and the Plough Hotel produced horse carriages, then motor cars plus an aeroplane pre WWI. During WWI the firm made horse-drawn ambulances at first, then wagons, limbers, Russian field kitchens, thousands of draft poles, tail-borads, Lewis gun carriages, spare parts and transport accessories. They also churned out hundreds of thousands of shell cases. The factory site eventually closed in 1941. Long since demolished.
