Full Description

{1} The project revealed Nos. 10 and 12 College Street as being commercial premises of early C20th and early C19th date respectively. As noted by Gibson and Prosser (2000), No 12 College Street preserves the mid Victorian structure of the Boot Inn, an historic property documented from around 1700. Little evidence of intact earlier fabric was recorded within the building. The deep wells found may be contemporary with this period but were probably a common feature of properties within the town. The buildings are now demolished.
