{1} Pair of columns. Erected c.1930. Limestone. Unfluted Ionic columns with garlanded capitals, on stone base, supporting seated griffons. The columns flank entrance to gardens from enclosure within gates to garden from forecourt. Part of a formal garden layout devised by 1st Baron Hesketh and his head gardener, Swainson.
