Full Description

{1} Small country house, now divided into 2 dwellings. Early-mid C18, extended 1777 with C20 alterations. Ironstone ashlar, hipped slate roofs, stone internal stacks. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys and attic; 5-window range. Central 4-panel door with fanlight and Doric columns supporting sections of entablature and open pediment. Approached by 2 stone steps. 12-pane sash windows to ground and 1st floors with flat-arched heads and keyblocks. Plinth, chamfered quoins, storey band, moulded stone eaves and 3 segmental-gabled roof dormers. Wing to rear right (Manor Cottage) dated 1777 of 2 storeys, with gabled plain-tile roof and 6-panel door with fanlight and moulded wood surround. 12-pane sashes to ground and 1st floors. Interior. Hall has chequered stone paving. Inner staircase hall has open well staircase with panelled dado, carved tread ends, stick balusters and ramped and wreathed mahogany handrail. Moulded plaster cornices to most rooms. Original eared wood chimneypieces upstairs; another similar of stone.
