{4} A level 2 building recording survey was undertaken of the Coach House prior to proposed alterations. The Coach House is a two-storey rectangular building of early 19th century date, constructed of coursed, squared ironstone with a hipped slate roof with broad overhanging eaves and a single brick chimneystack at the N end of the range, formerly comprising a trap house and stables at ground floor level with service rooms and possibly servants’ lodgings on the upper floor. The Rector’s trap house has now been converted into a laundry room while the former stables are used for storage; the upper floor was refurbished as guest accommodation in the mid-1970s. The Coach House is situated at the S end of a range of outbuildings occupying a walled courtyard to the rear of The Old Rectory, a substantial residence built in 1816.
