Full Description

{1} House, C17. Squared coursed ironstone and limestone, artificial stone slate roof, brick stacks. 2 storeys and attic. 3 bays. C20 gabled porch to left of centre has entrance with 4-centre stone arch. 4-light stone mullioned windows with square hoods in left and right bays. Small 2-light window with stone mullion and square hood to right of entrance. 3-light stone mullioned windows with square hoods in left and right bays on first floor. Similar 2-light window to right of centre. Stone coped gable ends with kneelers. Right side has stone mullioned windows with square hoods of 4 lights on ground floor, 3 lights on first floor and 2 lights in attic. Extension to left, C18: similar materials; one bay , 2 storeys and attic; wood casement windows with wood lintels. Interior: Open fireplace with bread oven, original newel stair to right of entrance. Stop chamfered beams. Said to be mentioned in a marriage settlement dated 1666 (information from the owner Mr. M. Stone)
