Full Description

{1} House. Early C18 refronted 1778 (Datestone above main entrance). Coursed limestone rubble, slate roof, brick and stone stacks. L-plan. 2 storeys, attic and cellar, 3 bays. Entrance in second bay from right has stone lintel and 6-panel door with overlight. 3-light window to right with stone lintel and C20 wood mullions and transoms. All windows have leaded panes. Coped gable ends with kneelers. Entrance to cellar with barrel ramp in left bay at rear. Wing to right at rear lower than main block and separately roofed. 2 storeys, 2 bays with C20 windows. Interior: Remodelled C20, floors removed and new staircase inserted. Original open fireplace and bread oven remains. Said to have been a sheep drovers' inn on route to Banbury market.
