Full Description

{1} Manor house. Late C17, with C19 and C20 alterations. Coursed squared limestone, old plain-tile roofs, stone end stacks to front block, tall lateral stacks to wing. L-plan. 2 storeys and attic; 2-window front range has large 16-pane sash window to ground floor left, small 8-pane sashes to ground and first floor right and 12-pane sash to first floor left, all with timber lintels. Similar 16-pane sashes to wing to rear left to ground floor. One-light windows lighting staircase and C19 narrow sash windows to first floor, all with wood lintels. Ironstone quoins, chamfered plinth to wing, stone-coped gables with kneelers and two C20 hipped roof dormers. Entrance to rear with C20 double-leaf doors. Interior has open fireplace with stop-chamfered bressumer, stone flagged floors and fine open-well staircase with fat turned balusters from ground floor to attic. Fine collar truss roof with 2 tiers of purlins. Attached walls surrounding garden of coursed squared limestone and ironstone with ridged ironstone coping.
