Entrance front faces south and has C20 door to right of centre with wood lintel and C20 timber gabled porch. Small one-light window to left of door and 2-light casement window to ground floor left and right, all with wood lintels. Old 2-light casement windows to ground and first floor rear, those to ground floor with red brick jambs, those to first floor in eyebrow dormers; all have wood lintels. Interior not inspected.
{4} Investigated as part of the Historic Towcester Survey. It was believed that this building predated 1750, but documentary and map research showed that it was built shortly after 1810 putting it outside the date range of the project. It is the last surviving example of a thatched roof in the town. Erected as a single cottage it was split into two shortly after its construction creating two 'one-up, one-down' cottages. It is the last of the row of cottages that formed the southern and eastern boundary of the churchyard; the remainder were demolished c1880.
