Full Description

{1} Farmhouse. Dated 1659. Coursed limestone rubble, slate roof, brick end and ridge stacks. L-plan. 2 storeys and attic. Range facing road has 6-panel door with moulded wood surround, timber lintel and rustic porch. C20 bay window to right, 3-light casement window to left with timber lintel and similar windows to first floor. Return wing has C20 bay window to gable end, a 3-light casement to first floor, a 2-light casement to attic floor, both with timber lintels and datestone in between inscribed RR 1659. Quoins and stone-coped gables with kneelers. Single-storey extension to left. Interior: ogee stop-chamfered spine beams, open fireplace with cambered chamfered bressumer, fitted corner cupboard with shaped shelves and panelled doors with H hinges, staircase with slender turned balusters, and collar-truss roof with clasped principals.

{3} Analysis, photographs and plan. Analysis suggests that the wing with the 1659 was a later addition and the main building was built in the earlier decades of the 17th century, perhaps the 1730s.
