Summary

Built as a Swiss cottage-style tea house in c1875 to serve visitors to Victoria Gardens. It was remodelled in 1892 after the area was developed for housing.

Full Description

{1} Circa 1875, in imitation of a Swiss chalet. Brick ground floor, oversailing timber 1st floor under low pitched roof with wide eaves and gable bargeboords. Balcony with wooden slat railings. Casement windows. Once a tea-house. Included for historical interest and as an architectural curiosity.

{3} A charming Swiss Cottage type house c1860, complete with fretwork, a balcony and a tiny tower. It was built as a refreshment kiosk when there were indee garden in this area. The gardens gave way to houses in the 1890s and in 1892 this house was remodelled.
