{1} C17, altered C19. Coursed rubble, red brick courses below eaves on east section of front. Welsh slated roofs, 2 gables dormers to east roof. 2 storeys and attics; 2 windows with glazing bars under wooden lintels, 1st floor casements, ground floor sashes. 2 storey west wing has 2 flush casement windows, ground floor cambered relieving arches. Included for group value. Clare Cottage forms part of a group with Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 High Street.
