Building record 1160/379/1 - No.17 Market Square (Drury Chambers)

Built in the late 17th-century, post-fire (of 1675), but refronted in the mid 19th century.

{1} C17th and later. Stucco front of 3 storeys with ornate entablature on fluted Corinthian pilasters springing from 1st floor level. 5 sash windows in architrave surrounds; 1st floor cornices and 2 pediments, console brackets. Ground floor shop front. Nos 16 to 19 (consec) form a group.

{4} Post-fire, stately, re-faced and grandified in the mid 19th century. Five bays, three storeys, giant upper pilasters. Two windows on the first floor with curly open pediments.
