Full Description

{1} C19 Neoclassical front. Stucco, 4 storeys. Rusticated ground floor with 3 arched openings. Upper floors have tall Ionic attached columns in antis. 1850 by Alexander and Hull. Formerly the Corn Exchange.

{2} C19th neoclassical frontage. Building by Alexander and Hull, 1850. Stucco with 4 storeys. Odeon Cinema was formerly The Corn Exchange.

{3} 1st Volunteer battlion Northamptonshire Regiment had its HQ at the Corn Exchange, Parade, Northampton. Note that according to Kelly's Directory for 1885, the Corn Exchange, erected in 1850, was also HQ for the Northants (1st) Rifle Volunteer in 1885.

{5} Former Corn Exchange, later the Gaumont Cinema, by Alexander and Hull, 1850, classical, but stuccoed and with a giant Ionic order in antis above a rusticated ground floor. The iron gates from the Corn Exchange are at the museum at Abington.
