Full Description

{1} Name of school and "Endowed 1738" on flush 1st floor band of inscribed tiling. 1862 by E F Law in a Lombardic Gothic style. Stone dressed red brick. 2 storeys, 5 windows.

{2} Built 1862 by E.F.Law in Lombardic Gothic style; stone dressed red brick; 2 storeys; name of school & endowment date of 1738 in inscribed tiling;

{3} Becket and Sargeant's (Blue) Girls' School, founded in 1738 for 30 girls, is still in existence at 13 Kingswell Street. On the Sunday next efter 29 May, following the practice of the 18th century, the school girls attend a special service at All Saints' Church, wearing their distinctive dress.

{4} Founded by Mrs Dorothy Beckett and Miss Ann Sargeant for 30 girls from the parish of All Saints. A building on Kingswell Street, originally a stable, then a house and latterly the school was replaced. The old school closed in in 1962 and reopened on a site in Boughton green Road in 1975 under the name of All Saints CofE school.
