Summary

A Baptist chapel, built in 1835, with alterations made in 1892-1893. The 2-storey chapel is built of squared ironstone in a Neo-Classical style. The front is of ashlar and features a pediment with a later closed porch added in 1893. The main pediment includes a datestone bearing the legend "erected 1835". The gabled roof is covered with slate. The sash windows to the front and sides have semicircular arches.

Full Description

{1} 1835 in Neo-classical style. Ashlar pedimented front. 2 storeys with single projecting closed porch of 1893.

{3} Walls of squared ironstone and slated roof. Gabled front dated 1835 with wide porch added 1892 replacing two doorways with window between; two round-arched windows above former entrances and lunette ventilator in gable. Side walls of two bays extended to rear. (Demolition proposed c1976).

{4} Classical and of the familiar three-bay form with round-arched windows. The interior and porch of 1892 by Ingman & Shaw. Sunday School of 1881 on the left similarly with round-arched windows on the first floor.
