Building record 5046/5/3 - Garden Wall Bordering High Street, Great Houghton House

{1} Tall C18 stone wall carrying 3 carved stone vases. Included for group value. Great Houghton House, Garden Wall and Outbuilding form a group.

{3} The garden wall has bands of ironstone ashlar and infill bands of randomly-coursed limestone rubble. However this detail is missing from the area of wall nearest the house, suggesting that this has been rebuilt at some point. Squared stone coping surmounts the wall, on top of which are three stone vases, spaced along the top.
