Full Description

{1} Early C19 tower windmill, altered and no longer used as a mill. Coursed rubble battered tower of three storeys with parapet hiding roof. Modern casement and sash windows. Additions to east and west of whitewashed brick and roughcast with Welsh slated roofs, 1 storey and 1 storey and attic.

{3} Three storey stone-built tower mill off Boughton Green Road; stood 42ft high; ground floor wall 3ft thick tapering to 1ft 9in at top; mill now converted into part of house in Windmill Terrace. Prior to 1904 mill stood upon walled mound similar to mill at Easton-On-The-Hill; mill boasted four sails & dome cap fitted with petticoat; also fan cradle carrying eight-bladed fan; mill may have worked in cooperation with one of local watermills; number of millers listed.

{7} The windmill was purchased by Thomas Wilson in 1904 and converted to domestic use shortly afterwards, with extensions on each side of the tower and a chimney stack running up one side of it.

{10} Kingsthorpe tower mill probably replaced earlier one standing just east of present one as shown.
