Building record 5003/2/11 - Garden Wall & Gateway at Delapre Abbey

An 18th-century red-brick wall and heavily rusticated stone gateway.

{1} C18th red brick wall and heavily rusticated stone gateway. Delapre Abbey with its Stable Block, Billiard Room, Garden Wall and Gateway, Game Larder, Coach-house and Park House form a group.

{3} A level 3 building recording survey was carried out in order to inform future conservation decisions. There are multiple construction phases with a variety of materials and the current arrangement has been in place since at least the 18th century with a brick inner skin added in the 19th century. However, the layout may have pre-Dissolution origins.
